Quality Family Time – A Great Weekend!

I have spent the weekend (and most of last week) fund raising for my children’s school by helping to organise the school’s Summer Fair.

If you have read the “About Family Guide” page you will know my family are number one in my life and I suggest that anyone who values their children’s education get involved with their school as much as they can. This is my first year as a committee member of the PTA and I didn’t realise just how much hard work it is to ensure these events work. The good news is that we achieved new records raising more money than before so it was definitely well worth it.

The main thing I have learnt is that the BBQ at a Summer Fair is really busy. I volunteered to run it as we were short on people putting themselves forward. My suspicions should have been raised as other parents sniggered on Saturday morning when they found out I was doing the BBQ and to be honest, it was harder work than my day job!

But it was for my children and their education will benefit when we spend all the money on additional resources for their classrooms, so I didn’t mind.

However it is Monday morning so back to everyday life.

Keep a look out later this week as we have a new “Easy Science Projects” guide coming your way to help you help your family.

More Family Things - A New Face Book Groups for Dads

Published by Wayne under Family Things, General, Waynes Guide

I have been busy working on the pre-season stuff for the 30 Day Challenge as I mentioned in my last post and am already learning a few ways to showcase my family-guide blog to the world.

One of the things I have learned is that there are many people out there with the same interests and they want to improve their family life as much as I do. That is why I have created a new face book group called “Dad’s of the world unite!”

There were so many groups saying “I love my Mum!” and “Mum’s the best!” etc, which I agree with, but nothing to celebrate being a Dad and all the responsibility that goes with it.

I love my family, but sometimes it’s a bit scary having the responsibility of being my 4 year old’s hero and my 9 year old’s spring board into the big wide world, not to mention being my wife’s best friend, therapist and fashion consultant. I would never be forgiven if I let her go out in the wrong dress - any idea how scary that is???

So if you are a Dad and on face book, come and join the group, you can share some ideas and meet other’s who know what we have to go through every day - Dad’s of The World Unite on Face Book

Either way come and see me on Face Book and add me as a friend, let me know you came from my blog and you will make my day :-) - See my profile here

See you over there!

Wayne
